A little bit about me ...
I am an experienced Geography Teacher and Head of Department. I have taught for over 30 years in a variety of comprehensive and grammar schools.
I am confident at delivering KS3, GCSE and A Level courses and have helped my students to achieve excellent grades, with many pursuing Geography related courses at university.
I have been an examiner for GCSE papers and also undertake an advisory role with an A Level exam board.
As well as teaching in a variety of schools I have been a field studies tutor in two centres and have worked with a mixture of ages and schools.
To achieve the highest grades at GCSE and A Level Geography students need to be knowlegedable about a range of geographical information and also confident to use a variety of geographical skills.
Key to success is knowing how to organise and remember content and how to select, and use appropriately, the information needed to answer the question set.
I can offer a variety of sessions - from recap and explanation of theory and concepts, to practice of a variety of skills.
Importantly I can guide students in organising their revision and planning and answering exam style questions.
I deliver online tutoring, via Zoom and charge £35 per hour.
If you feel that I can help then contact me via the form below and we can arrange a free trial session in the first instance.
'My son was lacking confidence in A Level geography, and we wanted someone who could help him. Meg came to the rescue, and we have to say that she did a wonderful job. Not only did he start to understand the subject much better, he really enjoyed the online sessions. At the end, he got a much better grade than we could have hoped for. Thanks for your help, Meg. Highly recommend!'

'Meg really explained the concepts well to my daughter, who was doing GCSE geography. She also helped her to understand how to correctly answer longer style questions.'
